One Show Design Awards Triumph

18 JUL 2007

New York - The Saatchi & Saatchi Network came out on top at the 2007 One Show Design awards, taking four Gold Pencils - three for Saatchi & Saatchi Australia and one for Saatchi & Saatchi Dubai.

Saatchi & Saatchi Australia's awards were all for its Sydney Writers' Festival 2006 campaign, of which Head of Design, Julian Melhuish commented, "The three posters feature an attack on TV by the world's oldest medium - print. Books provide a broader, in depth view while TV becomes ever narrower and more tabloid; books endure and remain loved."

The graphic style pays homage to the famous 1960's Penguin book grid.

Creative Services Director, Saatchi & Saatchi, Joe Churchward, said, "Winning at One Show vindicates the investment made in our Design capabilities both in Sydney and throughout the Saatchi & Saatchi Network. It definitely strengthens our agency's Integrated offering whilst remaining true to producing great Design work for our smaller clients."

Marketing Director, Sydney Writers' Festival, Lisa Torrance, praised the award winning idea. "The campaign created for us in 2006 was by far the most successful in the history of Sydney Writers' Festival. Its provocative nature generated more feedback from our audience than we have ever experienced in the past, not only helping spread the word about the festival but solidifying our identity as a Festival of cutting edge ideas and topical debate."

Topping off another successful awards showing for the Saatchi & Saatchi Network, Saatchi & Saatchi Dubai took home another Gold Pencil for their ECSA Female Recruiting Company.
