Adam Werbach

Worldwide CEO, Saatchi & Saatchi S

Adam Werbach is Saatchi & Saatchi's Chief Sustainability Officer and Chairman of Saatchi & Saatchi S.  He's responsible for helping Worldwide CEO Kevin Roberts achieve his goal for Saatchi & Saatchi to be the first 'True Blue' agency network, bringing together the four streams of sustainability -- society, economy, environment and culture. More than 3,000 Saatchi employees have participated in the True Blue project, creating rooftop gardens, increasing their use of video-conferencing, providing pro bono services, building recycling programs and hundreds of other local efforts across the world.

Adam is the author of the book Strategy for Sustainability, published by
Harvard Business Press, and is widely known as one of the foremost experts in sustainability strategy.

At age 23, Adam was elected the youngest-ever President of the Sierra Club, the oldest and largest environmental organization in the United States. He has since worked with a wide range of Fortune 500 companies in building their sustainability strategies, engaging their employees and launching new products. Werbach worked with Walmart to engage the company's 1.9 million Associates in its sustainability effort, creating the Personal Sustainability Project.

Twice elected to the International Board of Greenpeace, Adam is a frequent commentator on sustainable business, appearing on networks including BBC, NPR, and CNN, and shows ranging from the The O'Reilly Factor to Charlie Rose.  Werbach has been recognized as a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum and has been elected to the American Advertising Federation's Hall of Achievement.
